You're not alone. DSL-N doesn't have dpkg. The RC stands for "release candidate." DSL and DSL-N are not the same thing.

I could've sworn I downloaded this from the DSL-N repository but I cannot find it there.
This being said, I am using a dsl-dpkg.dsl sized 1,532KB with DSL-N and it works fine for unpacking/installing deb packages - apt-get is relatively easily to get working too.Thanks for the replies.
