This is great! I have just managed to unite the mydsl-function and the restore-function so that I have what I want working right off the bat. Thanks for a wonderful distro! The only thing I'm missing is mozilla thunderbird. I have tried sylpheed but we don't go to good together. So if it's possible to make thunderbird work with the mydsl-function, please let me know! Thanks again!

Have fun,

hello folks.

When I burn a new CD with DSL and mkmydsl, (abiword, gcomburst, gnu-util), the new CD boot fine but can't load X server.
The home directory of damnsmall belongs now to root and the Xserver can't create .Xautority and co...
To make the new CD works, I have to change the owner of /home/damnsmall. I tape on the console chown damnsmall:staff /home/damnsmall. After startx, all work fine, and I have the new applications usable.
Is that a feature or a bug.
Sorry for my poor english.

Sounds like a bad .dsl.  One of those .dsl probably has a permission problem. As I saw this before, at that time it was ace.dsl and has since been corrected. Check the md5sum to see if a new(er) .dsl has been posted. Since extensions are user contributed, may I suggest to try first with the desired extension placed on a hard drive partition using the boot time option of mydsl, e.g. mydsl=hda3. Once you are happy with things then proceed to making the cd.
