HD Install :: DSL on an old computer
Hi all,
I have an ancient cumputer with 32 Mo RAM
what is the procedure to install DSL in order to use a browser, a mail client and to be able to write and print in french ?
Thanks a lot for your guidance
I have bought the DSL live CD 2.1b at Ikarios.com
you should be able to boot with option lang=fr directly from the CD. If you decide that you want to install, you can do a hard drive install or a frugal install. You can refer to the Wiki or do a search to get more details.
thanks a lot
I want to partitionate the hard disk as I see DSL cannot do it
so I need a partitionner that works from start without getting to the Desktop
I tried with the system rescue disk without succes
You can boot with from the liveCD to get to text mode without the desktop. cfdisk will run from here to do the partitioning. You could use other third-party partitioning software, you might try AEFDisk, it works OK.
