HD Install :: Help with HDD Install !

Ok, I have the DSL install cd that I burned. I boot it up and I cycled through the menus and I then typed install. Then I choose hdd install. I choose hda as my partition ( I want dsl to have the whole hdd) and it finishes the installation it then says to remove the cd and reboot. I do so but I get a blank screen instead of dsl. I really need some help. Am I doing something wrong ?

You're going to have to give more information. IS it a frugal or a full install? What boot loader are you using? How far does it get before you get the blank screen? What partitions are on the hard drive?
