HD Install :: rebooting problem

when i shut down everything goes ok , at last it hangs saying knoppix halted ,
please help me,

At that point it should only have to send a command to the bios or something to restart.

What kind of computer are you using and are you using any boot options?

its safe to manually restart your machine from there btw.
