HD Install :: Adding a second kernel

Hi,

I'd like to try adding kernel 2.6 to an hd install of DSL.
Could someone please point me to some direction ?
Since I am interested in learning how to boot from a different kernel, DSL-N is not a choice.
Also, i don't feel like I am up to the task of recompiling a kernel, so is there a source of precompiled ones for DSL ?
I am trying to install DSL on a SATA drive. I'd give DSL 2.1b a try and it recognised my hd, but it fails to work after hd install due to kernel panic problems.

Any clue will be appreciated, thxs!

Nope, there are none precompiled. But you could take the one from DSL-N.. Just copy it and it's modules over and set your bootloader to boot it
Thanks, curaga, i'll give it a try (once i've figured out what files do i need to copy...)
from the cdrom, boot/isolinux/, linux26 and minirt26.gz
from KNOPPIX, /lib/modules/2.6.12 directory

Is it as simple to add a 2.6.x kernel to a DSL 4 live cd ??

Use the DSL-N live cd and copy the DSL 4 files to it ??
