HD Install :: compact flash to hd install

I must have the OS boot, be able to save changes, and be able to intall/update things (permanent) like adding the flash app for firefox, etc.

...make sure it's 7.0, not 9.
Version 7 of what flash player?  I only see the 9 download.  Since rpm/apt, etc. aren't installed the tar should be fine, but not sure on the default path for firefox that the intstaller is looking for.

find/locate not helping, this is the dark ages of linux, before my time learning, so sorry if some of this I should know but the dsl is all new for me.

For flash 7 see the sticky in the multimedia section

For help on certain utilities, you can usually append --help or -help or use `man <name>`

For installing on flash devices, it is not recommended you do a traditional hard drive install.  You can have permanent content (see mydsl, backup/restore, remastering, etc.)
