HD Install :: dsl on ps3

I guess dsl needs an ix86 compatible processor in order to run - is this the case, or could a ps3 install work?
DSL is x86 only. You could theoretically create a distro for the cell that has all the same applications and features as DSL, but I doubt you could could install the existing DSL on it.

I'm of the opinion that DSL is an odd thing to want on ps3. It's new hardware, fast, plenty capable of running a much more voluptuous system.

That's PPC? If so, you could use a PPC-based distro, NetBSD, etc.

- there are several distros with versions aimed specifically at the ps3 - yellow dog, ubuntu, debian.

I just thought it would be interesting to try dsl  :)
