If you're looking to DJ using Ice/shoutcast, you could always try Darkice. There's also LiveIce (of LinuxRadio fame).

( tweaks to files, mp3s from cd, sources of files, etc.)

Can you monitor the stream from the same box, or
do you need to use another computer to listen?

I've got an old cpu or 2, and my kids would get a kick
out of setting up a stream with their favs.
