Multimedia :: Xmms crashes system

Hi!
First: DSL is a very good distro and I'm quite happy with it. I installed DSL-2.0 on my 300Mhz Laptop and everything works fine, except one thing:

I mounted my mp3's via smbmount. It's no problem to play the music, but after a while xmms freezes the box. The song keeps on playing, but it's not possible to switch to another task or kill xmms. So I have to do a hard reboot.

Maybe Xmms got some problem with the smb-connection?

If nobody got a solution for this problem, perhaps you could point me towards some other good audio player (with gui).
