Multimedia :: playing CD using xmms

You should type in "dsl toram" (without the quotes) and press enter when you get the initial DSL boot screen (Press F2 for options message).

No need to do those boot commands. Mount your cd-rom drive and play the music as if you would play it off your hard drive. IF you need help mounting your cd-rom drive, just ask. Try using the auto-mounter that is docked (by defualt ) on the right of your screen. I'll give more detailed help if you need it.

I was having problems with that too. What I ended up doing was opening up XMMS. Not mounting the CD (Linux wont recogonize it), and right clicking on XMMS and "play directory" When the dialogue box opens I selected "cdrom", and everything played.

if the worst comes to the worst, plug your speakers straight into the port on the front of the cd drive
