Networking :: Wireless (Dell Truemobile 1350) with WEP

My wireless router is DLink DI-524. Its configuration is
ssid: lonely
channel: 6
ssid broadcast: enabled
security: wep
authentication: Open system
WEP: 64 bit
key type (ascii): ratty

I use Dell Truemobile 1350 wireless card (Prism- Agere system) which works out of the box (by using Wlanconfig and Iwconfig sequentially) if WEP is not enabled. When I use Iwconfig, I just add ratty in the WEP box but I am not able to connect. Could you please tell me which configurations (router or the card) would work easily...

Are you putting the embedded colons in the WEP password, ie-

. Are you sure 'ratty' is an OK password, my router requires hex.
