Networking :: Static IP

How do I make eth0 start on bootup? I have edited lilo.conf and added the nodhcp tag, tried editing the knoppix-autoconfig, added a symlink from rc0.d/S20networking and rc6.d/S20networking to /etc/init.d/networking, but eth0 is still not starting at bootup. WTF???

Maybe it just doesn't like you very much. :-)

I would recommend getting a nice computer like an Apple.
