Networking :: nic not recognized

im running DSL as a liveCD right now with no problems connecting to the net. however, ive also got DSL installed on the HD of this machine, and when run like that, it does not recognize my NIC.

any ideas?

I have the same problem with my machine.

Compaq E500 laptop ..... nic works fine when i use it as a live CD ..... i install it to the HD and no joy at all

Im looking for a driver at the mo from the knoppix cd.
