Networking :: Newbie need's help with net card

Finally a nice easy and perfect distro for a newbie like me
I'm a win2k user and also used every M$ window$
well enought with that OS and now my llinux problem

How can I configur my pcmcia or if is done well then how do I config the Realtek RT8139(A) net card?

I use a 3com 812 router

I'm using my Thinkpad 770Z
128MB of RAM
13 or 14 GB
and my 24x cd-rom (I love it is fast os more than win2k hehe)

Please tell me step by step

Never mind now I found that I had to set my ip settings and i found out while fighting against netcardconfig

now I think i need java or a web browser with it

Dillo looks great but i miss my firefox soon i'll get it

I have a question now I'm using and playing to use all the
time DSLinux as in cd mode if i use it like this do I need an
antivirus ?
I use HD for saving only I can't use floopy as I
can't use floopy and cd-rom same time.
