Networking :: DSL and SAMBA

I would like to be able to mount samba shares from a DSL box.  I use KNOPPIX for this currently to get into an otherwise unbootable W98 computer and mount the hard drive and mount the user's home directory on a server and copy their data to the server.  But KNOPPIX takes a long time to get up and ready on a slower computer and DSL is much faster, plus it will fit in my pocket.

Is this possible?  Would it be possible to add this functionality?  I don't necessarily want the ability to run a samba server on DSL, I just need to be able to mount smba shares from another server.

like:

mount -t smbfs -o username=username //server//share /localdir

Thanks

Try the samba.dsl - Samba and LinNeighborhood are included in the package..
