Networking :: Reccomended Wireless card



I have just got DSL running on an old laptop

Compaq LTE5250
Pentium 120
256 Mb hard disk
no cdrom
80 Mb Ram

What would be the chances of getting a pcmcia WLan working with it and can anyone reccomend one

I have been using a Netgear MA401 wireless card on my old laptop (Toshiba Libretto P120MHz 16bit PCcard slot) with great success.

Just ordered one.  From what I can tell this card is pritty easy to get working in Knoppix.  Anything different in DSL?

Not that I'm aware of. You may need to edit a few config files to enable wireless. I would show you hte one from my uni but its for internal viewing only. If you search the forum or The Linux Documetation Project you will find details on how to setup the cards. Hope this helps and good luck :D
Ah well I am sure I will work it out.  I will note down exactly what I did and write it up for the FAQ section.
