Networking :: Need Help with PHP and GD

I wondering if the apache server on MyDSL w/PHP, has the GD graphics tools complied with it? and if so how do you enable them? and or use them? where are the files stored?

When i do a phpinfo there isn't a GD option listed.

what can i do to get GD to working?

i'm new to linux and so please "keep it simple stupid" for me.
