Networking :: can't config dns in pppoeconfig - please help
Oh, btw, if I try to open /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider in Zile, I get a message that said file "is not a regular file", whatever the heck that's supposed to mean.
Nothing opens, though.
Doh!
Once the dns servers were set, it should have been fine, but wan't.
Not until I realized that I had neglected to delete "username" from the prompt to enter such. When I opened /etc/ppp/ppers/dsl-provider and saw that my username was set to "usernameanthonybaldwin@snet.net" I realized the problem and reran pppoeconfig, deleting "username". It's working fine, now, and downloading Firebird.
So: PROBLEM SOLVED!
Thanks!
DSL rocks!

Just to prove it, here I am posting from the ancient Pentium 1 100mhz, with DSL hd install, using Mozilla/Firebird.
See?

Suprising how fast these old machines are with DSL.
Well done and good luck with your rebuilding efforts.
