Networking :: error message after usb devices auto config...help
When i boot dsl either from a pendrive or my grub install on a cf card there is an error message after scanning usb and auto configuring devices. It states " modprobe:modprobe: can't locate block_module_2"
any ideas on what this means and how to fix it? I am still having issues trying to get wireless usb set up.
Also the menu.lst in grub is password protected and I can't edit it, any ideas?
thanks
Does your PC/Laptop have FDD? It does not have, right?
EDIT: You got message modprobe:modprobe: can't locate block_module_2 because you don't have FDD. It's not a big deal.
Please provide more detail on your wireless device: Brand, Model and Firmware version.
For menu.lst, please use Menu --> Apps --> Tools --> emelFM --> emelFM as super-user, then click on that file and Edit.
thanks for the reply.
I have tried the belkin f5d7050 usb wireless g stick and the d-linkDWL-G122, I got the lynksis on a whim because according to wiki the DWL-122 works out of the box so I took chance on the DWL-G122 and it does not work out of the box FYI.
no FDD on my motherboard. it is the one they sell at the DSL store I got it there a few weeks ago. It is the EPIA board with the 800mhz onboard proc.
As for opening up Emelfm and using superuser I reied that but maybe I didnt get it correct. I will try again but I got a message asking for the files password.
Thanks all
edit: I opened menu.lst as SU in beaver and it is still password protected. wth??? any other ideas?
thanks
According to NdisWrapper, I found D-Link DWL-G122: rev A2, rev B1 and rev C1.
You may try Prism2 in DSL Control Panel or Ndiswrapper with .sys and .inf files.
Good luck
but if the card is not detected at boot will pointing ndiswrapper at the ini and sys files work?
I am confused
pluss ndiswrapper has a one line text box so how would i make it look at two files?
