Networking :: how can I monitor my dial-up connection?

Hi,

I use dial up a lot. However, it appears that Torsmo does not monitor dial-up (ppp) connections and pppstatus is not part of DSL.

What should I use to monitor my connection, to see that it is up or down, to see local & remote IPs, to see packages in and out, etc.

ok. how about just confirming that a ppp connection is up? how can I do that?

I start my connection with pon, but I need a way to see whether it is still running or if it has been dropped or whether pppd is still up

anyone here with dial-up who could share some advice?
