Networking :: how do i set up a usb modem
I have a motorola sb5101 cable modem and i need to know how to use it through USB with DSL. Im a noob with linux so please help!!!
I'm trying to do the same thing with a DLink DSL 302G. I hoped that having "DSL" in the name meant it would work just fine.
All the configuration stuff I have found so far just tells me to use Ethernet.
I'm sure it's possible.....just need to know how.
The easy way is to use a Network Card instead of a USB port but here is the USB method:

I got my BT voyager 105 USB modem working with the eciadsl utility
from the below site:
Main page on the net for USB broadband modems under Linux.
http://eciadsl.flashtux.org/modems.php?lang=en
you will also need to install 'make' before compling the files from source.
I found the following page usefull for the 'BT voyager 105 USB modem' but the same install principles apply:

the eciadsl.dsl is already in the testing repository
legalize cannabis, etc
