Networking :: No internet ( I'm new )

Hey everyone im really new to Linux and not to sure where to start, I can't get DSL to connect to my router with wireless or with a wired connection. I am running a Emachines Notebook MX7525, the Local area connections hardware is 'Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller' and the wireless one is broadcom. Any help ? Thanks in advanced!!

If you go into the DSL panel and try the netword card config button, what is the result? Does it detect any network cards?
