Networking :: PCMCIA Wireless card freeze

Hello

I am a recent convert from windows and trying out DSL (Please pardon my newbieness.) And quite frankly, I am pretty impressed at the speeds I am getting with my old 385xd thinkpad laptop.

I recently bought a pcmcia wireless card (Airlink AWLC3026T)for the laptop. When I insert the card and start the laptop, cardmgr is loaded and the computer freezes. When I hotplug the card and try to load thru the pcmcia card control in X windows, again it freezes. The card works fine in Windows on my friend's laptop, so its not a broken hardware issue.

Do any of you guys know whats wrong and know how to fix that?

Computer is
IBM385XD with 97M of RAM
4Gb of hd (200M is used for swap)
