Networking :: remote access via ssh

Probably a silly question: how do I access my dsl box remotely via ssh ?
I am creating a diskless, kiosk-like box based on dsl and for it's maintenance I would like to connect to it by ssh. When I tried to access the box as dsl user I am always asked for a password. What is the password ?
I realise it's probably something pretty straightforward but at the moment I am stuck.

did you add dsl as a user and give it a password. if not i think you need to do that.

passwd dsl
