Networking :: slow downloading

i recently installed DSL on Hdd....
the problem is that when I download (or sometimes in the browser) it works very slowly, or appear (in myDSL) 'stalled'. this is not from the connection because in windows xp the Internet is running like a rabbit, with no gaps... my network uses automaticaly configuration (DHCP), and I double checked my MAC address.
