Networking :: How to automatically start NIC?



For some reason, my NIC (static IP) has to be started manually in ATerminal after boot by using 'sudo ifup eth0'. Once I run it, the NIC works fine. Isn't there a way to put this in a startup script somewhere? I've tried to put the above command in /opt/bootlocal.sh and /home/dsl/.xinitrc without success. Maybe I'm doing it wrong though. Anyone have any ideas? BTW, this is a hard-drive install.
Nevermind. :p I followed the FAQ to the "T" and now it works fine. Sorry to bug anybody.
