Networking :: networking devices

ok, so when i try the pump thing i get and error saying that the operation failed.
lspci shows me both of the network devices (ethernet card and wireless) on the computer, but how do i know if the right module is loaded? lsmod works but i don't know how to interpret the output.

so messing with this a little more i'm pretty sure i don't have the right modules loaded. my two network devices are
a intel pro/wireless 2200BG
and a
Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM5705M 10/100/1000Base T

any idea which modules i should load?
