Networking :: 802.11b canot connect

So, you are using a static IP on a wireless?
Your ifconfig displays an IP.
If you are setting up a static IP, then you also need to add the nameserver and default gateway. Perhaps that is what you are missing.

I have added them when doing a gui setup with iwconfig. COuld there perhaps be a conflict with the two cards? If i do get this wireless working will i be able to use both of the cards at the same time ie access both routers through firefox

Incase anybody is interested i have fixed the problem and can now access the net*. Believe it or not my router must be no more than 20cm away from my wireless card or i get no reception!! yes 20cm!! Im going to google this now and see if theres anything i can do about this very serious problem. I have a D-Link DI-524 and a belkin fd6020 orinoco wireless card. Anybody has any ideas i will be checking this post for them. cheers
