Networking :: Compile drivers fro RaLink RT2400

Hello, this is mi first post in this forums.

I recently got an old Toshiba Tecra 510CDT, with a SMC2635W pcmcia netcard. This one is the V2 of those cards, the one with the RaLink t2400 chip. I got source for the drivers here:
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
But I find no way to compile them in the DSL machine. No problem I thought, I'm also using a full fledge Ubuntu desktop, so I downloaded the sources for the same version kernel from DSL. (2.4.31) then tried to compile the drivers in the Ubuntu box. I got an error like "the matrix type has incomplete element type" (sorry, the error mesage is in spanish). I'm making sure the drivers makefile points to the correct kernel sources, but besides that, I don't know what to do.

How do you compile nework drivers or any other drivers by the way in DSL?, The laptop is very limited in HDD space, (2Gb) so if I can compile those in other machine the better. I can also use vmware to replicate a DSL installation with more resources in other machine. If there's a tutorial or howto on this coul you please point me to it, 'cause I have found no one.

Thanks in advance.
