Networking :: X & VNC & leave programs running.

I SSH to a DSL Box. Startx & and that starts VNC servers from .xinitrc. Then I do vncviewer DSL Box:x and work,start there some programs and I leave them running. Now if I close VNC connection also gui programs close. How to do so that the started GUI (X) programs stay running when I close the VNC connection?
