Networking :: ThinkPad Broadcom eth card not working

Hi all,

I'm still very new to Linux & am running DSL under QEMU when at work (works perfectly), & booting from USB when at home (so much quicker), but my ethernet card is not working.

I have found a few topics advising that it will work using the TG3 driver, but being new to Linux, I have no idea how to install this.  Can anyone please give me some simple instructions on doing this on DSL?

Thanks,

T

You can load modules with modprobe <driver>
When trying to run make on the drive downloaded from Broadcom I get told that make is not available.  I have tried with gnu-utils installed from both the .unc & the .dsl, but neither worked.  Do I need to reboot having installed these?
