Networking :: MSN/Live messenger & iptables/NAT, UPnP neccesary?
Hi,
I just read a lot about clients with MSN Messenger behind a iptables-/NAT-router.
In short everything I read goes like this: MSN Messenger doesn't work completely behind a iptables/NAT-router because MSN uses mostly dynamic ports for everything accept the text-chatting itself. So I mean audio/video communication, filetransfers etc...
But, the sites and (mostly tweakers.net)topics I found where from béfore 2005.
So.... is this problem solved by now??
While writing this something just popped In my head... UPnP (Universal Plug 'n' Pray) should be a sollution to this problem, but is this possible in combination with iptables?
