Networking :: wireless and ndiswrapper or driverloader

Hi all,

I've been using Linux for awhile, but I'm far from a guru. I just started using DSL 0.8.1.1 on a Compaq Pressario 1800 that has a Linksys WPC11 V4 wireless pcimia card in it. DSL doesn't recognize the card and I'd like to get it working. I wonder if anyone can point me at some kind of HOWTO for either:

the ndiswrapper

or

driverload from www.linuxant.com

I've tried the later without success, but then as I mentioned, I'm not a guru. :)

Thanks in advance,
Doug

No offence dude bud do you even look at the treads in the forum?!?!

It's back to Linux for me, after a long hiatus.

For those who need briefing on NDIS Wrapper, as I did, see:
http://www.technetra.com/Writings/recent/ndis_wrapper_wifi_html/view

"Got a wireless network card that you want to use with Linux but its device driver is not available? NDIS Wrapper may be just what you need... NDIS Wrapper allows the Linux kernel to interact with a network device using the Microsoft NDIS driver for that device. NDIS Wrapper translates calls to the Windows NT kernel and hardware abstraction layer into native Linux calls. The project was started in November 2003..."

Does anyone have any tips about using ndiswrapper? The topic "WORKING NDISWRAPPER!!!!, I have it up and running! Get it now!" did not give too many details. I can't boot DSL at the moment... Is this utility bundled with DSL, or does one need to get a copy to insmod or something?

Thanks.
