Networking :: Changing the Net BIOS Name Permanently

I am setting up several machines with flash cards in them booting to a DSL console. I have run into a small problem. I have no clue as to how to change the net BIOS name from the default "box" to something else. This is critical because I will have several of the computers running at once and they will need to have exclusive names. I need for it to save permanently so they can be rebooted whenever.

can you do a remaster of the /KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX image?
if so:how to set te hostname from the bootprompt
maybe someting like this can become part of the next DSL version?
