Networking :: Wireless help
Which version of the D-Link card you have? The version of the chipset may affect which driver is needed. I think mines a Version B (I'll confirm that later) and works with DSL straight off the CD.
Also, describing briefly what your wifi setup is may help a bit. (If for nothing else, any other genius that peers at this thread may be able to give a better answer).
Mine says version 1.10.
There's the router, to which my sister's computer and main computer are connected to using a lan. Then, upstairs, is my compy which is supposed use this Wi-fi card to connect to the router. The card always worked on winblows so I know that its not a hardware problem.
OK sock, your setup is pretty similar to mine. FYI, my wifi card is hardware version B2 and firmware 3.1.6. Again I can confirm this version of the card works with DSL. The card uses the 'atheros' chipset, which means it gets picked up as 'atho'. (Thus the network traffic monitor apps wont display whats going on.)
Best to check what hardware version your card is. You should be able to google info on linux compatibility with your card version.
Best of luck.
Thanks. I'll try that.
