Networking :: 3c574 help

I own a Toshiba Satellite 2545 CDS. I have the pcmcia slots set to cardbus mode via the bios. If I leave it in PCIC Compatible mode, DSL locks up after it detects the processor. In cardbus mode, it hangs the machine at "modprobe 3c574_cs". If I leave the card out until after DSL fully boots then insert it, the whole machine freezes. Removal of the card does not free it up. I am a noob, and any help is appreciated.

It might be possible to fix things if you have an hd installed system.
