Networking :: switching from dhcp to static ip
On bootup it uses dhcp and configures properly.
But
I want to use a static IP. I can use netcardconfig gui and switch it.
but
I want to fix the bootup so that it comes up with the static ip by default instead of using DHCP.
Where do I change this setting?
Al
right click , go to system, then control panel. look to the right, theres a button there thats called.. i think. .netcarconfig.. click on it, select the right ETH , click

Thanks for you help.
I tried that and it does in fact change it,
but
when I reboot the system comes up again using DHCP.

This has been answered a few times before - try searching for 'static' as the keyword and click on the box which says Search from and choose 'From the beginning'. One thread which comes up is this thread
original here.
