Networking :: help... d-link external modem

hi to all,

i am new to linux and the dsl distro
i have an external modem model DFM-560EL OF D-LINK
its a serial type modem,
i tried configuring it through dsl-panel in dial up config
but its not working...

i hope someone can help with this....

I downloaded the wvdial package of mydsl
and install it, though it took me a while figuring how to run it through command line and editing the configuration file.

it did work, it seamlessly detect my modem.

in fact i am posting this message through dsl with dialup connection.
