Networking :: Help with connecting to the internet in DSL

Does your modem not have an ethernet port?
No, it has "Line" (phone line), and USB.  Any other ideas/anywhere I can get a v. cheap router or something....

Since you are using broadband internet you may want to think about using a firewall router (and you can have many computers on as well).  Use a computer that is older but still has USB and get something like smoothwall (I use freesco for dialup but that kernel does not support USB according to the forums there).  You could then get an inexpensive switch (or network card and crossover cable) between your smoothwall router/firewall and connect as many computers as you desire on your own lan.  From reading the forums for smoothwall it supports USB modems and provides additional security for "always on" connection.
Sorry.  My bad.

The uppercase/lowercase letters matter.

Please replace:

modprobe cdcether

with

modprobe CDCEther

from my previous message.
