Networking :: No supported network card found

Title and description says it all. I booted DSL 1.5 and can't get my 3com card to work. What should I try ?

I've searched all over the forums for someone with the same problem -no network card found. I can't believe i'm the only one  :(

I know the card works cause I could use it to transfer KNOPPIX to c: using a netbootdisk.

I'm having the exact same problem.  I hope that you are able to find a solution and hopefully solve this problem for me as well.  I also have a 3com card and I am using the most recent version of DSL, just downloaded it today to try it out.
Have you tried this?

Open a terminal window and type:

sudo su
modprobe 3c509
netcardconfig
exit
exit

It works cbagger01. GREAT, and thanks. How can I automatically do this each time I boot up ?
This didn't work for me.  :(  I think that its probably because I have a different type of 3com card, the description in windows device manager is "3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940)"  I tried following the same instructions and then doing it again using 3c940 instead of 3c509.  I'm not that savy with linux so I'm sure its something obvious.
