Networking :: Setting Up Lucent Modem
OK, i just got my Lucent modem today, installed it and.....I don't know what to do.
I have DSL 1.9? (the previous version)
2 modems installed:
--Lucent Microelectronics V.92 56K WinModem (rev 03)
--U.S. Robotics: Unknown device 2f00 (rev 1)
I ran scanmodem on EmelFM and this is what it told me:.......

Plus I know that 2.0 has more support for Lucent modems and I had the 2.0 candidate CD around here, but i can't find it. I'm going to download it later, whenever i have the time, so i was just wondering if the previous version of DSL-1.9 would support my Lucent Modem
good news, i found the DSL 2.0-RC CD and when i ran it, it said:
Found a Lucent Winmodem (its on COM3 in Windows)
(during the boot-up screen)
...so I checked the PPP Dialer, and wasn't able to connect to the modem
i tried all ttyS# and /modem, no luck
Does it not even attempt to dial?
All I had to do was set /dev/modem as the device in order for the modem to be used initially, although i had to tweak a couple of things in order for me to connect to the internet after the ISP connection was established.
nope, doesn't open a connection
and it opens another (Bash window i think) screen and (i should've written down what it said) it says theres some type of error.....
/dev/ttyS14 is the device for Lucent winmodems.
But when you see the message "Found Lucent Winmodem" is where I make the link between /dev/ttyS14 and /dev/modem. So choosing /dev/modem should work.
Use the control panel system stats and look under modules tab to see if ltserial and ltmodem are loaded. Also look in pci tab to see ltmodem info
