Laptops :: Mouse

I've installed DSL on a233 MHz Laptop (old Gericom) and can't use my external mouse. The touchpad on /dev/psaux works perfectly but I can't find out which mouse port to choose for the mouse. I thought it was something like /dev/input/mice but that doesn't work

Can ayone help with this one?

After paying closer attention to the boot sequence it appears that I have a problem with DSL trying loading my mouse (touchpad) On my HP 4150 Laptop. DSL (2.1 and 2.2) stalls when it trys to load the drivers for Generic PS/2 Mouse. Knoppix 4.0.2 uses Generic PS/2 Wheel Mouse. Is there a way for me to get DSL to use the Generic Wheel mouse during the boot
