Laptops :: How to activate pcmcia card services?

Hi!
I just downloaded and installed DSL with help from the bootdisk found at www.toms.net and the excellent guide at damnsmalllinux.org. Im having problems starting and activating the pcmcia card services though, can anyone help me or give me any hints what to do =) Im kind of a rookie when it comes to linux, so be gentle :-)

On mine it activates automatically on bootup during the hardware detection phase.

With DSL running check the System Stat app. Look in the 'Boot' tab and see if one of your boot options is nopcmcia. If you want to use pcmcia then this should not be set to nopcmcia.

Tell us what options you do have and how you're running DSL (live-Cd, frugal install, etc)
