Laptops :: dsl on acer aspire 1690

I 'm trying to boot dsl on an aspire 1690 (from cdrom)
(intel centrino, 1gb ram, ati x700pci-x,...)

I tried with nousb, noapic, nopcmcia and then it would boot but then I don't have usb loaded.

Now the thing is, I want to run it from stick and since it stops loading at ohci1394.o I guess that's not possible?

any hints, ideas or trics?

1394, hmmm, try nofirewire

as in boot with:

dsl nofirewire

at the prompt.

I have Acer Aspire 1683 WLMi and a problem loading DSL from my pen-drive and cd to. If I hit <ENTER> and start normal boot, kernel starts loading but hangs and screen becomes black. I tried "failsafe" mode. In this mode everithing hangs on the next output:

I have tried using different parameters but this didn't help me. The same story happens while using cd.
