Laptops :: No PCMCIA?!?!?!

hi,
I run DSL on an old laptop, I've installed it on harddrive. I have an orinoco wave lan wireless lan card. but I can't run the network tools because it didn't load any drivers.

If I try to run cardmgr I get the message:
cardmgr[388]: no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices

I guess it didn't load an driver.
I have a CL - 6729
How can I solve the problem???
