Laptops :: Installed to HD - But no keyboard now?

Well, I installed DSL to the HD on my laptop, but I can't even get through the initial setup.  I had keyboard control when it asked for my password for root and for dsl.  I logged in as root first since I need to get more tools to start off, and I reach DSL X Setup.  I lost all keyboard control at this prompt, so what am I going to do now?
I think the better way for you is Frugal Install. You can edit initial setup in lilo.conf (LILO) or menu.lst (GRUB). I'm using GRUB Frugal Install. You can use LiveCD for making partitions by cfdisk like this:-

hda1 - swap
hda2 - ext2 (DSL boot image) ~ 75-100 MB
hda3 - ext2 (Backup/Restore, MyDSL and data)

EDIT: you can format the partitions in aterm as Root:-
Code Sample
mkswap /dev/hda1
mkfs.ext2 /dev/hda2
mkfs.ext2 /dev/hda3
after formatting, reboot and make Frugal Install.
Select hda2 in Frugal Install when it asks for the destination. Please try and response back if you have any problem. Good luck :D
