Laptops :: Install DSL from PCMCIA CD ROM

Say, I have an IBM Thinkpad 755CSE with 40m RAM, floppy, 2gig HD.   I have a CD ROM with DSL.  This CD boots up with DSL on my desk top running in RAM.  But this laptop's BIOS does not allow boot from CD ROM.  So, I have a Teac 10x CD ROM PCMCIA.  How do I get DSL to boot from PCMCIA?  And if I want to install DSL how do I do it using the PCMCIA CD ROM?  Right now the laptop just boots up in DOS mode from C.  Help me guys install DSL.

While inside DOS or Windows, copy the contents of D:\KNOPPIX directory (where D: is the letter of your CDROM drive) over to your C:\KNOPPIX directory.

Then create a boot floppy using the instructions provided in the FAQ, or press the "Search" button at the top of this page, enter keyword "rawrite", choose search ALL FORUMS, FROM THE BEGINNING, or NEWER.

When you boot with the floppy inserted, it will find the DSL files on your C:\ drive and it will start up DSL as if you were booting from a CDROM.

Good Luck.
