Laptops :: ACPI???

Hello all,
I have a old PIII pc with 128 ran. I believe all the mininum requirements are met. When I boot, the splash screen starts. I hit enter and DSL stops at uncompressing linux.... ok

When I do failsafe, it starts booting until...
it stops booting at "ACPI: IRQ9 SCI: Level Trigger."
Any idea what is causing the problem and how to stop it?

failsafe boot does not have the default boot options of noacpi

Might want to try adding it.

For my boxen, 'noacpi' still doesn't allow booting successfully.

Only the expression 'acpi=off', in place of 'noacpi'
truly bypasses the acpi scans, and allows booting..

try that one too..
