Laptops :: Installation on a Dell Inspiron 8000

Hello to all,

I would like to know if someone has installed DSL on a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop.

If so, how do you install DSL correctly? I have problems with the pcmcia detection, the installer stops at this item.

Does it work if you try to use DSL version 2.1b?

This version has a newer linux kernel installed.

Otherwise, maybe you can try to disable acpi, or in the worst case even pcmcia with a boot command like:

dsl acpi=off noapic pci=bios

dsl acpi=off noapic pci=bios nopcmcia
